Building sustainable brands.

No.16 CMO goes TECH meetup! February 23rd, 17:00 CET!

Are you ready for a CMO goes TECH night with interesting speakers and good conversations with your peers? – It’s time for our 16th CMO goes Tech event where we’ll talk about how to win new business by building a sustainable and purpose-driven brand.

For members only! Sign up for free!

A 2021 Deloitte study came to the conclusion that businesses need to plan for ways they can make their products more sustainable while building accountability into their value chain. Fast forward to 2022 and that sentiment has only grown as purpose-driven brands are winning the race. Consumers care about more than just what products or services are – they care about what kind of impact brands are making in the world. Therefore, it might be a good idea to find a sense of purpose that your audience truly connects to. But is it really that easy? What does it take for a brand to appeal to a growing, socially conscious audience? And what are the pitfalls to avoid?

We’ve invited representatives from companies that know a great deal about this!

Doconomy provides leading impact data services for individuals and corporations to help educate, engage and reduce environmental impact. Its CEO Mathias Wikström is a Sweden-based sustainability business leader and creative strategist who is the co-founder of Doconomy together with Johan Pihl and spearheaded other globally awarded forefront projects in Finance, Sustainability, and Human Rights. Mathias has won a Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for the past three years.

In 2008, Max Burgers became the world's first restaurant chain to climate label the menu and climate compensate all emissions to 100 percent – from the farmer's land to the guest's table. Fast-forward to 2018 and MAX is the first food company – in the world – to be climate positive. And they haven’t slowed down since. Kaj Török, Chief Sustainability Officer at MAX Burgers will talk about how MAX changed its business model to help save the world – and how your organization can do the same! Kaj has repeatedly been named as one of Sweden’s 100 top influential people on green issues.

We’ve also invited Maria Wetterstrand, CEO at Miltton Europe, former leader of the Swedish Green Party Miljöpartiet, and member of parliament who will cover upcoming EU directives and laws against greenwashing marketing. Established in 2015, Miltton Europe is the European advisory arm of Miltton Group, one of the leading consultancies in the Nordic region. Their mission is to help companies, institutions, and organizations to understand and navigate the European policy environment while promoting their ideas and policy solutions across the continent.

We’re finally able to meet and mingle with other members at a Stockholm city location to be announced soon. Limited seats so secure your seat now! (You can also attend via Teams).

Are you ready for an evening with interesting speakers and good conversations with your peers on how we can maximize business value through improved customer experiences? – It’s time for our 15th CMO goes Tech event where we’ll talk Phygital! And finally, we’ll get to meet in person!

The Fifth Industrial Revolution is creating new ways for people to interact with the world around them, which means that there are more opportunities than ever before for customers to connect to businesses in a whole new way! 88% of customers expect companies to accelerate digital initiatives. Many successful companies meet these rising customer expectations with relevant and personalized interactions across all kinds of devices, channels, and in-store interactions. In this context many claim that the future of great customer experience is Phygital (Physical and Digital)!

As always, we’ve made sure to invite passionate thought-leaders and interesting speakers to talk about this and more – this time from Polestar and WorkShop (the consumer experience agency)!

Nils Rylén, Head of Global Marketing Communications & Marketing Sweden at Polestar, will talk about whether the world really needs another car brand? – The young brand has certainly managed to create some traction in its focus areas; design, sustainability, and innovation. This is your chance to get some insight into the work behind building the Polestar brand in Sweden and globally!

Mattias Schedvin, Senior Retail Strategist, WorkShop The Consumer Experience Agency, has named his talk “Don’t Do Tech, Do Consumer Experience” and will deep dive into how to reach the perfect mix of concept design, experience, and seamless digital integration. But always with true consumer value at heart!

You are most welcome! We look forward to seeing you!

We know that it costs a lot less to sell to existing customers than acquire new ones—that’s why brands invest in loyalty and rewards programs. But loyalty is a whole business game, not just a program. Perhaps, loyalty is rather about a broader construct, one which, at a fundamental level, is about some very simple and very human things: consistency, value, reliability, and a sense of belonging - the community.

17.05 Ericsson Research Consumer & Industry Lab - The world in 2030 - Welcome to the internet of senses!
Imagine a virtual workplace that automatically changes depending on what you need to do, such as giving you an editing pen and a big display when you need to do video retouching, or a haptic keyboard and an extra side screen with a thesaurus when you need to write a report. Also, imagine that by 2030 it is becoming common to have a lifestyle involving working and socializing totally in virtual realms without ever physically leaving home. Further, imagine that technology could enable a full internet of senses. vision, audio, touch smell and taste, including the ability to digitally communicate thoughts by 2030. This is part of the Ericsson Research vision we call this the internet of senses. The Internet of Senses will be enabled by technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), 5G and automation. Consumers predict that by 2030 screen-based experiences will increasingly compete with multisensory ones that will be almost inseparable from reality. Beyond visual and audio we will be able to touch, feel and even smell and taste things digitally. In this session, Dr. Pernilla Jonsson, Head of Consumer & IndustryLab at Ericsson Research will walk us through what more than 14.000 early tech adopters and white-collar workers see and the next digital revolution – The internet of senses - a future which may be closer than you think!

CMO goes TECH 8th Meet up - Joins forces with Google and Publicis Sapient on the topic PWA.

New date due to high demand:
February 6th, 2020 at Google's office in Stockholm.
17.00-19.00

As Christmas is getting closer we would like to send you our appreciation for sharing knowledge within the network during these two years of CMO goes TECH. Two amazing years for us as founders!

And we would like to send you our version of a Christmas gift:
save the date for the first event of 2020.

Studies reveal that up to 80 % of apps are used once after being downloaded, and then never again. Where does this take us? Is PWA the solution?

PWA (Progressive Web Apps) is one of the most talked-about technology shifts in the web. After some hesitance, many companies decided to jump on the train but what are the benefits, business impacts, and challenges?

Controversial? Debatable? Agreeable?

Many important questions and we will support you by bringing in the experts to guide you - Google and Publicis Sapient.

Make sure to save the date. An invitation with further details will come in January.

Thank you, Google and Publicis Sapient.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year,
Gül & Cecilia

Creative Data
2018 was the year when companies started to take data seriously. Next event - The fifth meet up focusing on Story doing

Story doing vs Storytelling
Brands having Story doing as part of its DNA and living their brand promise to its fullest will outperform their storytelling peers. So what is the difference and how can I get started? This is what you will learn from our speakers during the fifth CMO goes TECH meet up. Welcome!

Please make sure to be at Spoon Publishing 15 minutes before it starts so we can start on time.

Program

16.45 Arrival of all guest so we can start on time

17.00 Welcome to the fifth CMO goes Tech-meetup. The founders of CMO goes Tech, Gül Heper and Cecilia Hjertzell, will present a short summary of the new Martech report 2019.

17.10 Story doing - Customer experience as the new frontier for brands to differentiate.
Stefan Moritz - VP Customer Experience, Veryday
Many brands that try to differentiate themselves through storytelling still find it difficult to reach their customers across a multitude of available channels. Simply talking to customers through investment in advertising, content and media isn’t enough to build a true relationship. An integral part of story doing is creating an ecosystem where everyone within your organization is engaged. When employees are engaged and passionate about their work, your customers will have a great experience, which in turn drives business. Building on customers’ core purpose and values, brands can grow together with them to create long-term relationships that benefit both.

17.30 The Case - Husqvarna. Future proofing the brand by story doing. Margaretha Finnstedt, Global Director of PR & Brand Innovation, Husqvarna
2016, Husqvarna presented Husqvarna Battery Box, a connected toolshed for garden tools, one of several projects that proves that marketing needs to navigate in new ways to future proof the brand. Margaretha will share the “why’s”, the “what’s” and the “how’s” of working with brand innovation in a 330 year old company.

17.50 Open discussion with the speakers

18.00
Time for mingle and to get to know your network
